Student Achiever Scholarship


Building a Pipeline from High School to Higher Education

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:

The JBL Foundation Student Achiever Scholarship is open to any current high school student who fits the following criteria:

• Actively enrolled and in good standing as a high school senior,

• Residing and attending high school in the Chattahoochee Valley,

• A minimum of a 2.5 GPA, and

• Accepted and admitted into a higher education institution.

 

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS: Proof of attendance in a high school located in a Chattahoochee Valley County is required. Chattahoochee Valley is defined as the following geographic region: • Chattahoochee, Harris, Marion, Muscogee, Stewart, and Tayor Counties in Georgia, and Russell County in Alabama Students must be enrolled in a high school located in one of the counties listed in the Chattahoochee Valley region.

 

HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTION (HEI): Proof of acceptance and admission into one of the following HEI will be required:

• University or College (public or private)

• Community College

• Vocational School

• Technical or Polytechnical School

 

ESSAY: A 250-word (one-page) essay must accompany the application form. The essay must be typed in APA format, 12-point font, and double-spaced. Handwritten essays are permissible by special request and approval.

Essay Topic: “You be right” was an expression used by the late John Bubba Leonard. What is your interpretation of the meaning of the expression and how would you apply it to your life?
